In 2015, Ken Ferguson retired from 40 years as a Project Manager for a major oil company – but his passion had always been stained glass. He had wanted to learn the craft for most of his adult life, but just needed that extra “nudge” – which consisted of a suite of Christmas presents from his wife in 2008 made up almost entirely of stained glass tools and supplies. Living in Houston, TX at the time, he used his un-air-conditioned garage as his studio, so Ken’s working season was limited to only a few months in the fall and spring, but even with this constraint, he managed to create over thirty pieces during his first couple of years.
Upon their retirement, Ken and his wife purchased a hacienda in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas, and constructed a fit-for-purpose stained glass studio nestled in the woods adjacent to their home. Ken works almost entirely from his original designs, creating his pieces from his own and other’s artwork and photographs.
